We are an easy going friendly club, with the aim of going climbing and having as much fun as possible. With over 130 members there is always something going on.

To sum the club up in a few words I would describe it as a "Free for all". By this I mean that the club is there for anyone who wants to join regardless of age, ability etc. If you have never climbed before or are looking to challenge your fear of heights then this is the place for you. Once you join you can climb with us as often (or not) as you want so you can take on as much as suits you, and take part in as many of the activities as you want and we will always look into something you suggest.

The club has a huge social scene and we meet up twice a week, once on Mondays for a Social /Drinking night in the pub, this is also where we decide what to do for the week and take bookings for trips. This is a nice place to meet up and chat about what you have been doing and plan future events.

Wednesday afternoons are training sessions mainly at indoor climbing walls all around the Bristol area. Our main venue is the Bristol Climbing Centre (www.undercover-rock.com). We also have Wednesday trips to Gloucester, Cardiff and Swindon walls.

This year we also have Training booked in at the Center For Sport (CFS) on Frenchay Campus. Its free entry on monday evenings 5:30pm-7:30pm and Wednesday afternoons 1pm-5pm. Beware though as we will be holding a lot of inductions in the first term and there may not be room for everyone, inductions will take priority. For best advice give Keegan a ring on 07854145264 on the day.

As well as this we have regular weekend trips to climb on outdoor rocks and crags all over the country. These include Portland, Dartmoor, Cornwall, Peak District, North Wales and many more. We aim to try and do this once or twice a month.

Membership of the club is £15 for the year, this is the minimum we are allowed to charge by the Students Union and it is to cover insurance, both from the SU itself and also from the British Mountaineering Council. This also covers use of the clubs extensive range of kit and access to discounts on outdoor equipment from Taunton Leisure.

If you’re interested then come along on a Monday and see if we're the club for you. Membership can be signed up online or by going to the 4th floor of the Students Union (F block) Frenchay.
