Get ready for the biggest student event this year!

The Freshers' Ball is back and bigger than even last year. With three amazing high profile acts, it is going to be the highlight of your Freshers' week in 2006, no doubt about it! From 7pm til midnight the show will run inside a huge outdoor marquee that will fit well over 2000 people inside.

This year the acts are Goldie Lookin' Chain, Totally Boyband (MTV) and The Cut Up Boys (Radio 1 & Ministry of Sound) With more bars than you can shake a pint glass at, seven rooms of varied entertainment to suit anyones tastes, and a first come, first serve, after party...you simply could not expect more for the £35 per ticket.

GLC

GLC PhotoWhat can be said about these loveable scamps from Wales? Anyone who saw their amazing performance two years ago at Reading and Leeds will know how amazing an act they are, pulling headliner style crowds at the start of the day! Winners of the BT Digital Music Award and the UK Festival Awards best Urban Act award in 2005, and with Maggot taking part in celebrity Big Brother, they are clearly a cut above the rest both in talent and attitude.

Totally Boyband

Totally Boyband PictureTotally Boyband are a pop experiment that we hope goes extremely well! Made up from Dane Bowers (Another Level), Jimmy Constable (911), Danny Wood (New Kids on the Block) and the return to UWESU for Bradley McIntosh (S Club 7) they will be performing old hits from their old bands as well as some new stuff made by the whole group. And if that wasn't enough, MTV will also be hanging around to film their performance to an excited student crowd. What a way to relive your childhood, eh?!

The Cut Up Boys

The Cut Up boys PhotoJudge Jules calls them the best mash up producers/DJs in the world. But what is mash up? Well if you haven't been fortunate enough to listen to their Ministry of Sound mixes then what are you waiting for, go out and buy right away! Mash up is where two or more tracks are taken and mixed together to make something completely new, fresh and wild, and you'll have to try very hard not to smile and dance while they spin their unique tracks for you.
