	Launched in 2004 and flying off to a great start! Awarded: BEST NEW CLUB 2004/2005 by UWE Students Union Power kiting at the University of the West of England has taken off in great style and wants YOU to get on board. Remember: we're a members run club where YOU are the most important asset and YOUR ideas and opinions are the driving force behind all what we do. Gone are the days of diamond shaped kites. The sport of power-kiting covers a range of disciplines including static flying, buggying, and kite ground-boarding. We use the most advanced foil designs to provide you with enough power to lift you off your feet, drag you along a beach, or to reach speeds of over 40mph in a buggy or on a board!	Get your social life and power kite skills cruising! This new, fun club offers the chance for the 'old hand' to meet like-minded mates, and the 'newbies' to quickly progress to a competent standard. POWERKITE provides a friendly atmosphere to participate in this exciting, extreme sport all while benefiting from getting out and getting some air! After a hard flying session, or if the healthy, outdoor aspect doesn't appeal to you all the time and you just fancy a drink, then we hold a fortnightly social in a city centre pub plus pub2club nights for whoever's up for it!
