TIPS AND ADVICE HOW TO STAY SAFE WARNINGS BEAUFORT SCALE (WIND SPEEDS)

  SAFETY ADVICE
Some tips and advice to help you when flying.

Keeping Out Of Trouble: KITEuwe recommend that you abide by ALL safety guidelines and conduct yourself in a safe manner at all times for the interest of you and others around you.

Use appropriate SAFETY equipment i.e helmet, knee and elbow pads, gloves etc.

Flying lines and bridles under tension can cut like a knife - they can injure, maim or even kill. Always keep your lines away from people and animals. NEVER attempt to catch or hold a kite by the lines or bridle.

Never fly your kite anywhere that is likely to annoy or threaten people or animals. ALWAYS maintain plenty of space around you in all directions, especially downwind. Traction kites can pull you downwind for a considerable distance.

Onlookers should always stand behind the pilot for safety.

Always use caution when flying any kite. Make sure you have full control of your kite at all times. YOU are responsible for your own safety and the safety of bystanders.

Never fly a kite near high voltage cables, busy roads and airports or in stormy weather. Be aware at all times of the size of your kite in relation to the wind condition.

If you are out of control or in danger let go immediately, unless this endagers others downwind of you.

Remember, YOU are responsible for the safe operation of your kite and equipment at all times.

Remember, every time you fly your kite in public, you are an ambassador for our sport - please act accordingly.

WARNING: NEVER UNDER-ESTIMATE THE POWER A KITE PRODUCES!

WARNING: KITE FLYING CAN BE DANGEROUS!
