THE FOLLOWING MUST BE COMPLETED PRIOR TO TRIALS:

Please ensure that the following three things are completed before you attend UWE Netball trials as staff at the Centre for Sport will check upon arrival. Failure to complete the following will mean that you are not insured for any injury you may occur.

If unsuccesful at trials a full refund is available upon request from the Sports and Activities Centre on the 5th floor of the SU in F block on Frenchay Campus. Proof of payment within 20 working days will be required.

Firstly you are required to register with SU online at www.uwesu.org/register

Secondly you must pay the one off joining fee of £35.00 at the

  • St Matts Fresher’s Fair on the 22nd September,
  • Glenside Fresher’s fair on the 23rd September
  • or the Frenchay Fresher’s fair on the 25th September
  • or you can pay at the SU reception on the 5th floor of F block on Frenchay campus or online. (this must be done prior to trials)

Your membership fee includes:

  • Training Venue
  • Match costs
  • Travel to and from games
  • Insurance
  • Affiliation to England Netball
  • Free 1st aid courses
  • Free umpire courses
  • Free People Carrier test
  • Free Minibus Test
  • Discounted clothing/access to online shop

All of which you would be expected to pay well over £100 for at any local, non-university club.

Thirdly You will be required to take the receipt you receive to the Sports and Activities centre on the 5th floor of the SU in F block on Frenchay Campus where you will get the back of your NUS card stamped with netball 08/09. (This element is essential as you will not be able to leave UWE for away games without this being done).
