Exiting the plane at around 12,000ft you will experience about 40 seconds of freefall (probably the biggest rush in your whole life up to this point!). Depending on your brief, during freefall you could have the opportunity to make turns or even link up with other experienced skydivers! This means that you exit the plane at the same height as experienced skydivers - it's probably the closest experience to that of the qualified skydivers - and the instructor you jump with will be in full control, allowing you to relax and enjoy your skydive. Once in freefall with your instructor you will experience 90, 180, 360 degree turns and downward speeds in excess of 120 mph! Most tandem students are very scared both in the plane and just before exiting the aircraft but once they are out in the open they soon start to soak up the fun and adrenalin the skydive brings with it. SkydiveUWE have yet to have anybody participate in a tandem and not enjoy themselves and, so please don't be our first!

Your canopy ride will start at approximately 5,000ft and your instructor will give you the experience of a perfectly controlled canopy ride and an on-target landing. Some tandem jumpers even get the opportunity during the canopy ride to steer the parachute themselves for a little bit! From this point you can decide what to make of your experience and if you decide you want to take it further, a tandem jump is an ideal first step. Tandem jumps not only allow those who don't wish to jump on their own a way to experience skydiving but also makes an ideal birthday present for a relative, boyfriend or girlfriend. If you are interested in booking a tandem then speak to a member of the committee who can help arrange it for you. Please remember though that the majority of skydiving is dependant upon the weather and so sometimes you may have to be flexible. We can't change the weather that easily and so be prepared to bring some warm clothing with you should you think the weather may turn a bit chilly!

Whilst taking part in the tandem is an amazing experience that you will probably never forget, why not pay the extra and get your tandem filmed as well? Most tandem video persons have still cameras attached to their helmets too which lets them take photos as well as video! These videos and photo packages are not cheap (you have been warned) but do mean that you can share your experience for months and even years to come with your family and friends. They make the ideal finish to any birthday or Christmas present as well as proof of your jump to your friends! The top two photos to the right of this page were taken using a stills camera and then scanned in, you'll agree that they are pretty good quality. Every video which is made comes with music, graphics and some fantastic scenes of the landscape from 12,000ft. So many times we hear people say that they wish they had spent that extra money and had got the video and stills package when they had the chance!
